About the Survey
For the fourth year, the Wichita Art Museum is part of the 2022 Annual Survey of Museum-Goers and is asking for feedback from the Wichita community about the museum and their visitor experience.
More and more, art museums are focused on their visitors and their communities. Museums want to offer the best possible experience and to know their hard work translates into rewarding visits and lively program engagement. In an effort to better understand how museum-goers feel about the Wichita Art Museum, WAM is taking part in a national museum survey to probe and gauge the perceptions of those who do and don’t attend. WAM now asks all in the Wichita metro area and beyond to devote 5 minutes to this national survey. The feedback will be invaluable.
This nationwide research initiative is led by the American Alliance of Museums, an international organization representing more than 4,000 art museums, history museums, zoos, and science centers. The survey is administered by Susie Wilkening of Wilkening Consulting, a firm specializing in groundbreaking research on the role of museums in American society. In mid-March, WAM’s results will be tabulated with dozens of museums from around the country, giving insights into the behaviors and values of museum-goers specifically, not casual visitors or the broader public.
Survey questions include:
- How often do you visit the Wichita Art Museum?
- Why do you (or do you not) visit WAM?
- What types of organizations would you like to see WAM partner with on programs and events?
- How many other museums, besides WAM, do you typically visit in a year?
