Preschool Art Program

Art Start is a free program for children ages 3 to 5 (accompanied by an adult) that aims to support early learners to imagine, learn, create, and engage with art. Advance registration is required. 

  • Sessions are Thursdays from 10:30 to 11:30 AM or 1:30 to 2:30 PM.  

The theme changes each month, so come back once a month for a fresh take on the museum!  

Please only register your child for ONE session each month. 

We Offer Bus Reimbursement!
Is the cost of the bus for a field trip a problem? No longer! WAM provides 100% bus reimbursement to all schools within reasonable driving distance of the museum.

Monthly Class Themes

September: Clay Creations 

Get ready to squish, pinch, and coil!  Come together to create and explore clay in works on view and as an artmaking medium.

October: Life in the Countryside 

Trade the bustling city sights for rolling wheat fields.  Little explorers will step into the countryside through art, play, and storytelling.   

November: What Makes a Home?  

What makes a home feel cozy, safe, and special? Is it a favorite toy, a big comfy couch, or the people inside? Explore the idea of “Home” with colors and textures. 

December: A Snowy Day  

When the cold wind blows and frosty ice covers the ground, winter becomes a magical playground for us to explore.
