About this Event

Step into a world of light, shadow, and discovery—for one night only! The Wichita Art Museum transforms as local artist Mason Talbott unveils a mesmerizing installation that invites you to see the museum, the art, and even yourself in a whole new light. Capture the moment with stunning selfie opportunities as shifting shadows and illuminated forms create an unforgettable atmosphere. Then, deepen your experience at 6:30 pm with an Artist Talk, where Talbott shares insights into his creative process and the beauty he finds in light and space.
Don’t miss this luminous one-night experience!

About the artist: Talbott sees his lighting work as a way to show appreciation of the beauty he finds around him. He responds to environments through the shadows created to highlight and identify vignettes within as a reminder that there is always more to be seen or to be discovered if only we take the time to look around and be amazed by it. “…and it’s like the world splits open and shows me what it’s made of. It fills me with calm, with gratitude, and an immediate sense of play. ‘What if I scoot this light over?…turn the plant just this little way? What else can I cast it on?’ There’s no right or wrong answer; it’s just about ~being~”.
