About This Exhibition

For the first time since 2015, WAM is reinstalling its permanent collection in the Murdock and Navas Galleries. Staff are busy punching holes in walls, building partitions, and designing new spaces to display WAM artwork in fresh and innovative ways. In the meantime, WAM is letting it all hang out in the Scott and Carol Ritchie Gallery and Paul Ross Gallery.

Let It All Hang Out! is not curated in a traditional sense–artworks have not been carefully chosen to explore a style, theme, or historical moment. Instead, WAM gives visitors a glimpse into the far reaches of the collection, which includes more than 10,000 artworks. WAM favorites are paired with those that been in storage for decades (or have never been on view) and are displayed according to the order in which WAM acquired them.

Sneak Peek: Beginning Wednesday, October 18, 2023, visitors may watch the installation of Let It All Hang Out!
