Made in the USA, a rug produced for Edward Fields, Inc., New York. The original design by Hans Hofmann was created for a mosaic for a piazza in Chimbote, Peru. The background is a cream white with a design of a large purple loop in the center. To the right of this design is a figure in similar color. Designs resembling a pound sign are in purple in the upper right and in blue in the right center. A yellow design provides a limited border in the upper left and half of the extreme left side. Numerous small dashes and dots of yellow, green, blue and purple appear throughout the design.
