About this Event

Cool evenings and hot jazz! The Wichita Jazz Festival brings an entertaining night of live jazz to WAM in the Paula and Barry Downing Amphitheater. For almost 50 years, the Festival has been dedicated to fostering jazz music in Wichita and supporting the next generation of jazz musicians. Bring your lawn chairs, picnic blankets, some $ for the food trucks, and relax to the sounds of the William Flynn Quartet.

Described by the Wichita Eagle as “playing a mean guitar,” Flynn is a Kansas-based jazz guitarist and educator. William is a first-call guitarist in the Wichita area, regularly appearing as both a leader and sideman at local clubs and festivals. Equally accomplished and respected as an educator, Flynn has taught and presented at conferences around the country. He serves as Director of Jazz Studies at Wichita State University and is the co-author of the publication Jazz Guitar Duets.
