Closing Program for Now and Then: From the Studio of Kathleen Shanahan

◆ 6 – 6:30 PM Cash bar
◆ 6:30 Program begins in the Kurdian Gallery

Mark the closing of Now and Then: From the Studio of Kathleen Shanahan with Forcefield, a collaborative movement experience led by Harvester Arts Managing Director Mina Estrada and Shanahan. In preparation for the program, Kathleen and Mina have developed a set of signature movements inspired by selected works in the exhibition, drawing from the gestures, rhythms, and visual energy within her practice. Participants are invited to learn and perform these movements together, shaping a collective choreography titled Forcefield.

No dance background needed. This interactive program offers a unique way to experience the exhibition through movement, interpretation, and shared creativity.

About Mina Estrada: Dance artist Mina Estrada is the Program Director of Dance at Wichita State University as well as Assistant Professor of Performing Arts – Contemporary Dance. Additionally, she is the Managing Director of Harvester Arts, a nonprofit arts organization fostering opportunities for creatives in Wichita. Mina makes community building a priority with Smack Dab Dance Lab, which creates opportunities for local choreographers and dancers to experiment, play, commune, and share their work.

This program is made possible by the WAM + Harvester Arts partnership.
