Bring the whole family to explore the museum on this special day when the works of art are the stars of the show! Take a trip through the galleries and participate in a variety of fun, family-friendly activities in front of the works of art and gather inspiration to make your own unique artwork. This program is offered in partnership with the Down Syndrome Society of Wichita‘s Parade of Stars at Riverside Park.

October ArtVenture activities include:

• Chalk It Up in the WAM Art Garden with local artist Maggie Gilmore.
• Enjoy art-viewing activities in the galleries with two of WAM’s star artworks: Stuart Davis’ “Bass Rocks #1” and Louise Nevelson’s “Night Sun III.”
• Create your own mini-masterpiece in the Art Studio and a festive garland of stars in the River Lobby.
• Play and explore in The Living Room.
• Twist and turn with a balloon artist at work from 1-3 pm.
• Tap your toes with local musicians playing the newly painted piano by artist Hallie Linnebur.
