More and more, art museums are focused on their visitors and their communities. Museums want to offer the best possible experience and to know their hard work translates into rewarding visits and lively program engagement. In an effort to better understand how museum-goers feel about the Wichita Art Museum, WAM is taking part in a national museum survey to gauge the perceptions of those who do—and don’t—visit. WAM asks everyone in the Wichita metro area and beyond to devote 5 minutes to this national survey. The feedback will be invaluable.

This nationwide research initiative is led by the American Alliance of Museums, an international organization representing more than 4,000 art museums, history museums, zoos, and science centers. The survey is administered by Susie Wilkening of Wilkening Consulting, a firm specializing in groundbreaking research on the role of museums in American society. In mid-March, WAM’s results will be tabulated with dozens of museums from around the country, giving insights into the behaviors and values of museum-goers specifically, not casual visitors or the broader public.

Note: all responses to this survey will be kept confidential. Your response will not be used for any future solicitation. If you have any problems with the survey itself, please contact the survey administrator, Susie Wilkening of Wilkening Consulting, at susie@wilkeningconsulting.com.
