Happy birthday to WAM! One year older and one year better! Let’s celebrate 87 fabulous years in COOL Birthday Bash style.

Sway to the breezy island sound of the Pan ICT Steel Band and chill with Wichita Wagonmasters as they hand out wrapped ice cream sandwiches, but only while they last!

Come out and meet Little Miss Wheelchair Kansas Leslie Lane of Valley Center and Ms Wheelchair Kansas Marci Clare of Abilene and check out what’s new in the galleries.

Add your special touch to the community art project inspired by WAM’s Two Triangle Dango by Jun Kaneko. This beautiful ceramic sculpture features a fun shape and a playful polka dot pattern on the surface. For our community art making project, guests will be invited to help create two large canvas panels with a polka dot pattern in the spirit of Jun Kaneko’s work.

Members of the public can choose from a variety of polka dot making tools and add their mark to the canvas. After the event, we will take these canvas panels and sew them together to make a large “soft sculpture” that will be installed in the museum for everyone to enjoy.
