Smack Dab Dance Lab dancers
Family ArtVenture: Backstage
Saturday, March 21, 2026 | 11 AM – 3 PM
Free and open to the public ◆ Including admission to Alex Katz: Theater and Dance
Backstage takes centerstage for a Family ArtVenture celebrating dance, theater, and technical artistry. In partnership with Harvester Arts, WAM invites you to play with stagecraft in every corner of the museum (including in the exhibition Alex Katz: Theater and Dance) with programming for visitors of all ages, including a Storytime dance in the exhibition.
Pull back the curtain with us as:
- Smack Dab Dance Lab dancers greet you at the door with color, rhythm, and smiles
- Museum teacher Mason Talbott casts you in a shadow puppet play
- Clown Madi White shares her tricks in a drop-in camp (12 and 1PM)
- Dancers move, read, and look with you for Storytime in the exhibition (1 and 2PM)
- You make art inspired by Alex Katz and performing artists
