The Art Preserve at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center

The Murdock Society’s next adventure was inspired by a Murdock Mixology visit last November from Sam Gappmayer, retired director of the John Michael Kohler Arts Center, and artist Beth Lipman, whose installation Living History is on view in the Boeing Foyer. Murdock members were charmed by tales of art inspired by nature in Milwaukee and Sheboygan.

Together we will unearth cultural delights in museums, galleries, gardens, historic and private homes in Milwaukee. We will venture to Sheboygan to see the John Michael Kohler Arts Center and the Art Preserve, an experimental space designed to house the Center’s collection of artist-built environments, along with a visit to artist Beth Lipman’s studio. We will also journey to Racine for Frank Lloyd Wright treasures and more Wisconsin art.
