WAM's Photography Policy

Snap those pics, but please turn the flash off! Personal photography is welcome in the museum with the exception of certain traveling exhibitions. You will find a sign at the gallery entrance if photography is not allowed. If you’re not sure, ask a security guard. Note: Selfie sticks are not allowed in the museum.

Please be mindful of your fellow museum visitors. Photography activities cannot be disruptive to other guests, and accessibility to public areas, including stairs and doorways, cannot be limited.

Visitors using flash, tripods, and other equipment are welcome to photograph in the museum’s Boeing Foyer and the S. Jim and Darla Farha Great Hall, provided the photography is for personal use only and not for commercial reproduction. For this special photography session, visitors should submit a WAM Photography Request Form upon their arrival at the museum. Inquire at the Welcome Desk for photography forms or download WAM’s Photography Request Form below.

The use of flash, tripods, and other equipment in the museum galleries requires pre-approval. Group photographs of five or more people also require pre-approval. Such requests should be made in advance so a security escort can be arranged. Inquire at the Welcome Desk for photography forms or download WAM’s Photography Request Form.
