About this Event

Take a tour of the galleries with artist Micala Gingrich Gaylord to see WAM’s collection through her eyes. Micala will share works of art on view that have personal meaning or resonate with her artistic practice.

Micala Gingrich Gaylord is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in working in uncommon spaces, including prisons, foster care, and elder care communities, with people of all ages from 9 to 99. Her work is rooted in slow practice with community engagement as a basis for discovery of the group imaginary and for new ways to see and hear one another. Micala approaches art in all its forms from a place of deep curiosity for people and objects and the ways in which people engage with these things and how they help us become better with and for one another. She has a painting and sculpture degree from the University of Kansas and has had recent shows at the Ulrich Museum of Art, AHA in Tulsa, and Mark Arts.
